The Mayor Visits
June 7th. 2016

Ohr Moshe hosted the Mayor of Beit Shemesh, Moshe Abutbol, with members of the city council and various municipal department heads. It was exciting to show the visitors our new campus as well as to introduce our students, faculty and parents. The appreciation was mutual as Ohr Moshe voiced a thank you to the Mayor and his staff for their tremendous help in assisting our move to a larger, more appropriate campus. The Mayor thanked his staff as well as opposition leader Eli Cohen (who wasn't able to attend today) for their support of Ohr Moshe. The Mayor also thanked the Ohr Moshe staff, students and parents for their helping to make the school unique and successful and helping to make Beit Shemesh a better city.
Our Sixth Tiyul Shanati
May 31 - June 1st, 2016

The boys had a fantastic time up North going on hikes, swimming under waterfalls, kayaking, and more. The school stayed at a beautiful hotel in Tiberius which included catered meals as well as outdoor sports in the evening. A fantastic time was had by all!

Annual Bowling Trip

The annual bowling trip was as exciting as ever as the boys grouped up and competed against each other and against their teachers. Arie Epstein proved to be a worthy opponent and put up a good fight. Congratulations to Motty who scored a 173 and won the day!
Tiyul to Jerusalem

The boys recently took the day with veteran tour guide Rabbi Rocky Stewart to see the early communities developed outside of the Old City walls in Jerusalem in the early part of this century. A trip to the Kotel ended an exciting, fun-filled day.
Tiyul Shnatti

The boys traveled to several exciting tours, a lavish barbecue, a late night movie, and finished it off the next day by jeeping, taking target practice, and by rappeling off a mountain. Not a bad day at all!
Tiyul to Jerusalem

The boys recently took the day with veteran tour guide Rabbi Rocky Stewart to explore the old City of David in the Old City of Jerusalem. Whether climbing through the tunnels of Herod or exploring the water caves under the Old City, the boys had a great time and learned a tremendous amount about this special place.
Rabbi Singer

Marking the Yahrtzeit of Rabbi Singer's mother's yahrtzeit was a special moment for the students and staff of Ohr Moshe. Rabbi Singer made a siyum on mesechta Megilla and said divrei Torah to mark the occasion. May Keila Chiena Karen bas Nosson have an aliyat neshama and see tremendous nachas from her entire family.
Listen to Rabbi Singers beautiful siyum here
Helping Others

When a family in the community recently had a fire that destroyed and devastated much of their material wealth (thank G-d no one was hurt) the students of Ohr Moshe sprang to action. The students all brought in items that could help this family and, specifically, the children of the family -- toys, clothes, and other essentials. Kol hakavod for the tremendous effort!
A Day on Emunah

The school was privileged to have Rabbis and professionals come to the school and spend the morning talking about Emunah. Rabbi Chaim Faro discussed the different ways a person can build their emunah. Dr. Ari Stern spoke about the miracles we can see in the human body. Rabbi Zev Leff spoke about how it is not just about "knowing" there is a G-d, but rather about convincing our hearts to acknowledge Him and include Him in our lives.
Rabbi Dov Lipman

Since the school's first year as Ohr Moshe in 2011, we have been priveleged to have Rabbi Dov Lipman as an annual speaker. Being first cousins with the principal has its perks and coming to inspire the boys with words of Torah and chizzuk has become a fixture in our schedule. We look forward to many years of gaining from his knowledge and experience.
Dr. Mike (Michael) Frogel
As a world expert in training Health Care facilitators in emergency deployment of medical attention, Dr. Frogel had a huge amount to share with the boys in terms of personal experiences all the way down to the basic message of how small our world is and how much we all need each other.
Rabbi Aaronson

Rabbi Aaronson brought his Lulav and Esrog selling experience to the students of Ohr Moshe to show them the "ins and outs" of what to look for when buying a set of minim. Seeing is believing and the boys got a chance to see first hand, how to approach this mitzvah like a seasoned pro!
